It’s not everyday you see MotoGP crew members congratulating an AMA Superbike rider, or factory Ducati employees so enthusiastically celebrating with a privateer Yamaha pilot. Yet, that’s exactly what happened when Ben Bostrom took a popular superbike win in front of an international audience during the 2010 Red Bull Grand Prix weekend at Laguna Seca. I had spent the first half of the race at the corkscrew, where Ben had out-braked himself and ran off the track on lap two. Walking back to the paddock area during the last portion of the race, I arrived in time to see BBoz slowly making his way up pit lane as he received wave after wave of well-deserved congratulations. This would turn out to be Ben Bostrom’s last ever AMA Superbike win, but what a win it was.
