After the MotoGP-focused and drama-filled Laguna Seca round, normal service has resumed at Mid-Ohio... or has it? Differing opinions on the interpretataion of the blue flag rule resulted in controversy in an otherwise spectacular American Superbike race 1 that resulted in a 3-race suspension of Johnny Rock Page and later an indefinite suspension of AMA Pro Racing technical director Al Ludington.

Drama aside, it was a weekend ruled by Josh Hayes and Danny Eslick as both racers went on to score double wins in their respective classes. Josh Hayes' win also had the distinction of being the first Yamaha victory at Mid-Ohio in 15 years and the next day marked the first Yamaha 1-2 Superbike finish in 15 years thanks to a 2nd place finish by teammate Ben Bostrom in race 2, neatly echoing Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo's feat in MotoGP earlier that same day.

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course also has the personal distinction of being the first track I've never been to as a spectator.
