Mat Mladin Wallpaper - NJMP 2009

New Jersey Motorsports Park was the scene of Mat Mladin's last race weekend of his career. Having clinched his 7th championship at the previous round at VIR, Mladin's bike featured the #1 plate during the season closer. This shot was taken at turn 5, depending on how you count the turns.

The image was previously been used as a desktop calendar and is being re-released as a wallpaper.

    Neil Hodgson Wallpaper - Mid-Ohio 2009

Former British and World Superbike champion Neil Hodgson goes through turn 5 at Mid-Ohio. The relatively slow speeds at this part of the track allows for a small run-off area which lets photographers get decently close to the action, albeit through a limited selection of openings in the fence.

Neil Hodgson will return to the BSB series in 2010.

Larry Pegram Ducati Wallpaper - Road America 2009

Larry Pegram won his first Superbike race in 10 years at Road America this year, and here's a shot of him coming out of turn 6 during the weekend. Pretty straight forward shot, you can see them coming out from under Toyota Bridge, giving you plenty of time to prep for the shot. It was my second time to the track, and marks the last time I shot an AMA race as a spectator. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Valentino Rossi Wallpaper - Indianapolis 2008

This picture of Valentino Rossi was taken during a [rare] dry session at Indianapolis in 2008 from the inside of turn 6. There's a relatively small break in the fence/wall that offer spectators a rare unobstructed view of the track. Unfortunately, the wall that precedes the opening is high enough to block your view of the incoming rider so unless you've memorized the rider order and/or know the sound of the bikes well enough it's virtually impossible to tell who's coming around the corner until it's "too late". My concern at the time was just trying to get a reasonably sharp picture and this shot just turned out to be one of them.
