INTERMISSION

An inspired Josh Hayes took another win today beating 2nd place Mat Mladin by a whopping 10.062 seconds with the other 2009 Superbike race winner Larry Pegram ran wide chasing Ben Bostrom for 4th while Geoff May crashed out earlier in the same lap. The final podium spot was a fight to the line with Ben Bostrom narrowly beating out Aaron Yates. Mat Mladin missed clinching the 2009 Superbike title by a single point.

Once again Daytona Sportbike did not disappoint. Featuring multiple race leaders, numerous crashes, and hair-raising passes, there was a little something for everyone on just every lap. In the end, Josh Herrin narrowly beat out a drafting Jason DiSalvo at the finishing line for his first win of the year. The race apparently took a lot out of DiSalvo, who was unable to last the entire podium ceremony. Perhaps most overshadowed was Martin Cardenas's heroic ride to an amazing 9th place finish with a freshly broken right hand.
